"Lover of Little Girls", reads the website of Lindsay Ashford, a self-confessed pedophile with a twist: he handicaps political campaigns based on the attractiveness of the candidates' daughters. At least one candidate is taking exception: Barack Obama is suing Ashford, who rated the Obama children cutest and places Obama in the lead for the presidency.
According to legal experts, Obama's suit may be groundless, as Ashford did not make any statements that would be considered threatening or fall under the category of stalking. Ashford has been the target of other suits which he has successfully won on the basis of his right to free speech, including a 2005 suit brought by parents who took exception to a site Ashford devoted to missing children.
