Sweet canine-child love stories notwithstanding,
let me just say up front that I'm not a dog person. I've never been
fond of the ill-behaved crotch sniffers that seem to populate parks
and sidewalks. It's annoying as hell to be accosted by a mutt --far
more annoying than ill-behaved children -- who rarely, if ever, sniff a
person's crotch with any real enthusiasm.
