  • Brangelina Won't Marry Until the Gays Can

In an interview with W magazine, Brad Pitt discussed his strong support of same-sex marriage.  Having given the anti-Proposition 8 campaign $100,000 last summer, Pitt explained to W that

"People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying,” he argues. “What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

Pitt claims he and partner Angelina Jolie refuse to marry until the right to do so is afforded everyone.

Who should know better than the unmarried parents of six kids the hassle of not being married?  While money--which both of them have in truckloads, of course--can provide a lot of familial security, the basic rights

  • Unmarried Celebrity Moms and Dads

MSNBC has a nice little gawky slideshow featuring famous couples who bear children without being married. It's a sidebar, cheekily titled "First Comes Baby" (then comes love?) and accompanies the main story on Jessica Alba, who is promoting her new movie and is also with child. The headline acts as meddling mother by promising her "thoughts on marriage."

  • Brad and Angelina Don't Want their Kids to Watch Their Movies

Jolie tomb raider sluttyBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie aren't letting their children watch their own movies. I can't say that I blame them. Jolie and Pitt say that the movies they are in are too violent and they don't want to promote violence in their home.

Angelina's roles that have made her the most money show her brandishing weapons, and Brad and Angelina don't let their kids play with toy guns either.

As much as I am not a fan of toy guns, doesn't that seem a little bit hypocritical? It is okay for Mommy to be slutty and teach other kids to use guns in a movie based on a video game where a scantily clad woman goes around shooting people and zombies, but not cool for her own kids.

I have my own theory. I say they won't let their kids see their movies because Mr. and Mrs. Smith is so bad that they don't want it in their house. Just me?  Oh well, I tried.

  • Brangelina Overwhelmed By Stalkerazzi

brad and angelinaThe couple with the world's best cheekbones have hit the wall with paparazzi invasions. First Angelina was "shaken" when she discovered a 'razzi had cut a hole in the fence of her rented digs in the Czech Republic to get shots of her and the family at play. Then, in what might be part of the same incident, a photog smelled opportunity when a window shade was raised, and shot photos of her bathing her kids. The police were called three days in a row. Not surprisingly, Jolie, who is staying in Prague while she shoots a movie, was upset.

Us Weekly adds, "For more of Angelina’s frightening encounter, and what steps the couple is now taking to ward of kidnappers, pick up the new issue of Us Weekly." Hmmm, did they get exclusive photos too?

I'm of the "price you pay for fame" school to a certain extent, but this is gross. I really don't need to see pictures of the family relaxing together shot with a telephoto lens from a nearby tree. And honestly, I don't ever need to see pictures of the kids that aren't sanctioned by the famous parents (even though some do turn around and sell those shots to the highest bidder, yuck). Because celebs do deserve some privacy, and the kids deserve as much as possible. The Disneyland trips and the school plays and the soccer games should be totally off limits. Red carpet: fine, bathtime: uh uh. But of course, by doing celebrity coverage, I'm feeling like part of the problem. And that's why I've linked to the pictures from the incident. No, really, I'm kidding about that. There's just some mixed feelings.

  • Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's Very First Legal Battle

shiloh jolie-pittIt's bound to happen sooner or later: a celebri-baby's very first lawsuit.  Awww.  I wonder if Red Envelope sells an engraveable gift for this special occassion.  What's all the fuss about? Seems Mama Angelina Jolie isn't too pleased that a French perfumer wants to release a scent called "Shiloh."

The mother-daughter pair have filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to block Hors Lá Monde Corp., a jewelry-design and fragrance company owned by Symine Salimpour, from naming its latest perfume Shiloh. Hors Lá Monde applied for the trademark last June.

I'm sorry, but what the eff? Since when are names patentable?  And I ask this question knowing absolutely nothing about patent law. I mean, shoot. I would be thrilled if someone created a perfume called "Stefania" as long as it didn't contain musk and spice notes with patchouli-vanilla undertones. What does Shiloh smell like? Humiliation and adultery?

The perfume designer claims that the fragrance has been in the works for two years and that the name (as hard as it must be for Brad and Ange to believe) is completely unrelated to the Jolie-Pitt "love child." The designer, who is Israeli, claims the name Shiloh (Hebrew for "his gift") has special significance for her.

Hey all you Charlie's, Anais's, and Enjoli's out there (you know there is one): follow this case closely. You could have some money coming your way.

  • Brad and Angelina: Why so Secretive?

Pitt JolieIt looks like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are an item, and I just read that they might be adopting!

Here is what I don't get: Why won't the media give us more information on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopting children. I mean, sheesh, you just want a little bit on information on what these two are doing and it seems like they just aren't getting any press.

Plus what ever happened to Jennifer Aniston. Did you even realize that she and Pitt used to be married? I didn't know until last week. Why so secretive? Do you think there was a cover up? These are beautiful and fascinating celebrities, one might even call them superstars. I think they owe it to their fans to keep us up to date with what is going on in their personal lives. Don't you?
