• High School Student in Hospital After Scavenger Hunt

  When I think of scavenger hunts, I think of summer camp, back when I was about 10. The tasks were, "find a blue rock." Maybe a spork. Clearly I'm out of touch. A group of students at St. Charles North High School in Kane County, Illinois, have their own scavenger hunt for the "Jackass" generation. • A Wedding at a Children's Hospital

  Here's a story that may make you tear up a little on a Monday morning. A former patient at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago -- a place where as a 10-year-old, she underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor -- got married at the hospital over the weekend. Lindsay Anderson and her fiance, Josh Leve, said "I do" in the courtyard of the hospital, while 100 guests and many current young patients and staff members watched. The bride told the Chicago Sun-Times that she wanted to "give the kids here . . . an ounce of hope that their lives will come full circle like mine did." Read More...   All of us are looking for ways to cut costs these days. But has this Illinois mom pushed it too far? Fiona Gierzynski and her husband Paul, parents of four kids, have decided to stop using air-conditioning in order to save some money. One of her sons has complained about the unbearable heat.
