Political Nanny's apologies for letting her Hillary get a bit wild over the long weekend. Seems Hil was gunning off a bit at the mouth mentioning -- yet again! -- something about how she's sticking around, you know, just in case Barack gets assassinated. (Big of you Hillary, but we're all freaking out a little when you say that.)
Here's the money quote (via HuffPo):
"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the
California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all
remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't
understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.
She was presenting arguments for why she was staying in the race, despite the odds against her actually getting the nomination. Wonder why she didn't stick with more plausible reasons like, ummmm ... Still. Assassination? In fairness, she has since apologized to the Kennedys. (But the rest of us are still freaked out.) Somewhat surprisingly, this isn't the first time she's made this comment.
Feeling threatened with no longer being the most outrageous fear-mongers, a Fox News pundit returned fire with this sharpshooter of a sentiment: the assassination of Obama would be hi-LAR-ious. Just watch.
