Like many busy American parents, when I hear news of Iraqi children suffering, I tend to look away. And fast. I'm not in favor of this war, and am acutely aware of the suffering it has engendered for many children. UNICEF estimates that since 2003, "...nearly 15 percent of Iraq's population have fled their
homes -- four million people, half of them children."
Jordan's Queen Rania, named earlier this year as UNICEF's first ever Eminent Advocate for Children, is asking world leaders for 42 million dollars to provide water and sanitation for the remaining Iraqi children.
