It's all right to cry
Crying gets the sad out of you
It's all right to cry
It might make you feel better...
This song and others from the album "Free to Be You and Me" was immortalized by the singing voice of football star and sometime Kennedy family body guard Rosey Grier, and might as well have been the official anthem of some of us raised in the latter 70s.
As children of the liberal carob-eating, NOW meeting attending parents, we grew up playing with babies and trucks, simultaneously talking about our feelings while kicking soccer balls and beating the neighbor kids at softball and tree-climbing.
If you want to introduce your kids to the good old days, buy the cd, load it up on your IPOD and play away. You'll find that songs such as "My Dog is a Plumber," "Helping," and "Sisters and Brothers," will have them dancing (and sharing their feelings) in the living room.
