• 8 Year Old Divorces 50 Year Old In Saudi Arabia

  An 8-year-old girl was allowed to divorce her 50-year-old husband in Saudi Arabia. The marriage had been upheld by a judge twice; the girl's father had agreed to the marriage as long as it wasn't consumated until she hit puberty. • Should Countries be Allowed to Ban Women from the Olympics?

  Some women’s rights activists are calling to ban Saudi Arabia and Brunei from the Olympics—unless they start allowing women to participate. Right now, Saudi Arabia and Brunei are the only two countries that forbid women from competing in the Olympics. The two countries justify the ban on the grounds that some conservative Muslims see women’s sports as a sin. But, since every other Muslim sends women to the Olympics, this view on female athletes is clearly not endemic to Islam. Read More... • Saudi Women Treated As Children

  A report released by the New York based Humans Rights Group says adult Saudi Arabian women hold the status of “perpetual childhood” with their husbands and the male members of their families. Among the other rights not afforded to Saudi women are the right to drive and the right to health care unless given permission.     What this means for Saudi mothers is not being allowed to make even the most simple choices for their own children, because they, after all, have the same status as their children... • Reeeeeally Switched at Birth Babies Going Back to Bio Families
