When you have a special needs kid, there are all kinds of things that
other families do without a thought that pose huge issues for you. If
you’ve walked around with a stroller and realized how hard it can be to
access some places, imagine that double with a wheelchair, for example.
But there are some bright spots. The AMC chain of theaters is teaming up with the Autism Society of America on Saturday to offer a “sensory-friendly” showing of “Madagascar 2” to accommodate kids with autism and their families. Lights
will be brighter, sound will be lower and kids will be allowed to get
up, dance, yell, whatever helps them express themselves as long as they
aren’t threatening their safety or anyone else’s. Families can also
