I don’t look to ABC’s "The View" for intellectual debate or
insight. A good thing too, because they never feature any. (Just Google
“O’Donnell Hasselbeck The View” for past examples of hostesses pushing around
words and making hand gestures in place of fact or reason.)
The latest example of ignorance parading as a respectful,
point-counterpoint, relevant discussion is this clip of their new host Sherri
Shepherd confessing, with no signs of shame, that she doesn’t know whether the
earth is round or flat.
“I’ve never thought about it, Whoopi” she repeats for
clarity. “But what I’ve thought about: how I’m going to feed my child.” On
behalf of moms with stocked fridges everywhere, I’d like to state for the
record that it is no burden to make a sandwich while also knowing the earth is
round.
