• David Wiesner's "Flotsam" Wins Caldecott Honor

  Not two days ago, I was IMing about ocean-themed books with Charlene Prince Birkeland of Crazed Parent. Both of our preschoolers are obsessed with ocean animals, especially "dangerous," chompy" sharks. "Have you seen Flotsam?" she wrote. "No," I replied. "You have to get it," she urged, and lo and behold, Flotsam is the 2007 Caldecott Medal winner. Read More...
