I had no idea I was so powerful. Yep, one post here at Strollerderby and suddenly a gigantic whole country like China is scrambling to do my bidding! That's right: China, supplier of 70% of the world's toys, has promised to start making them better and safer.
I
say it's about time. Almost every week we post something here about
some new shoddy toy being recalled because it's made of toxic lead or
contains chokable parts yet is designed for a two-year-old. It's
heartbreaking and laughable at the same time. Not that I'm particularly
holding my breath that the quality of the lower-end toys shipped from
China are going to improve all that much, but it's good to see that
there may be higher standards imposed that may also keep more of the
children of the world a little safer.
