The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is like so many American
traditions: It's touching, earnest and a total cheesefest. We all know
this, right? But somehow when you sit down to watch it with your kids
-- as I am sure many of us did yesterday morning -- you see the whole
marching-band, float-filled extravaganza through very different eyes. 
My
toddler son caught a few minutes of the Herald Square madness, during
which time I realized just how horrifying and lovely the parade can be.
In that spirit, here are three reasons why the Macy's Thanksgiving Day
parade corrupts children's fragile little minds and three more reasons
why it's totally awesome.
