In the latest salvo against abortion rights, North Dakota's house of representatives this week passed a law defining a fertilized egg
as having all the rights of a human being. The bil, which passed with a
51-41 vote, will now move to the state's senate for its consideration.
If it is approved, legal challenges are expected that could end up in
the United States Supreme Court -- a body that is now widely seen as
having a five-justice majority willing to restrict abortion rights
first enumerated in the 1972 Roe v. Wade ruling.
