• Roman Catholic Archdiocese Fights Sexual Abuse With a Coloring Book

  The Catholic Church has not exactly done a stellar job when it comes to preventing sexual abuse of children by priests, as the numerous and horrifying scandals of past years have demonstrated. Now the Archdiocese of New York is using a new method to show they won't tolerate pedophile priests--they are, um, sending out coloring books to kids. Excuse me? As Amy, our resident practicing Catholic said, "A coloring book? Instead of, oh, STOP ORDAINING PEDOPHILES?" Or transferring them to different churches when they get caught, or sending them to unproven treatment programs and then releasing them back to lead a new flock, or...yeah, I'm a little skeptical on this one. • Gangsta Rap Coloring Book "Draws" Parents' Ire

  A coloring book featuring line drawings of rappers 50 Cent and Ice T brandishing guns and knives has parents in Britain calling for its removal from store shelves. The hip-hop "Gangsta Rap" coloring book replete with rappers and their beloved weapons is currently for sale at British fashion chain Topshop. Michell Forbes of Mothers Against Guns called the coloring book "sick," and not in a good way. Topshop hasn't commented on the issue, but if and when they do I'm sure it will be to thank nosy parents for making the controversial coloring book a smash hit.
