And yes, I had to look up the word "matelasse" even though I knew that's what the fabric is called, but who the heck knows what it means? Or why? Far be it from me to leave you with persistent questions.
However, "pretty" does not necessarily = "sturdy". And PBK is afraid that the shoddy pink decorative stitching of these pretty pretty crib bumpers (if you like white. and pink) will come loose and choke your unsuspecting inquisitive baby. Made in China? Why, no! Portugal!

Why, if you're me, you rip that damned stitching right out of there and call it a day. If you are Mike, you employ your fabulously decorative sewing machine and create some totally new design that doubles as a failed-stitching-holder-downer. Or, third option, you take this pretty! pretty! crib bumper back to PBK and request, nay, DEMAND, your $90 back. And pick something else out. Maybe not with stitching. Maybe not pretty! Maybe you're tired of retying those damned crib bumpers to the crib all the time because your baby unties them. Who knows?
