This is a true story. When I was a freshman in college I had a roommate that wouldn't eat any vegetables except for canned lima beans. I know, disgusting, right? I like lima beans and I won't eat the ones out of a can. Anyway, one time this roommate was sleeping and I was up really late playing backgammon on the computer studying for a test. She sat straight up in bed and yelled "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY MOM! I AM GOING TO EAT VEGETABLES!"
I suspect you are all wondering where I am going with this. Even our subconscious minds know that we aren't eating right. Unless you are a vegetarian, you probably aren't getting your five recommended servings of fruit and vegetables each day, and if you are a vegetarian, you might be worried about getting enough protein. Here I am talking about adults, but what about teenagers?
A recent study says that teens are eating even fewer fruits and vegetables than they were eating as adolescents. This study also says that the best way to get your kids to eat better is by setting a good example at home.
