When it comes to bags and purses, I'll take function over form almost every time, especially now that I am a mother.
I almost don't care what the purse looks like as long as I can get to my keys, cell phone, and a diaper within seconds. If it can also carry my wallet, sunglasses, snacks, and a sippy cup, I'm batting a thousand, as far as I'm concerned. So when I saw the Bella bag from Gina B., a bag that can not only handle all of the above but a laptop, too, I knew that techie mamas everywhere needed to know about it. Immediately.
As a working mom who does her best work at a wifi cafe while sipping a double cappuccino (dry), I appreciate that one bag can handle all my schlepping needs. And it has pockets, lots and lots of pockets. The laptop sleeve can be removed to carry on its own along with a cell phone and other business-y accoutrements (bonus!). The rest of the bag is roomy enough to keep diapers, wipes, snacks, and "restaurant activities" organized. And it comes in a color Sean P.Puffy Diddy Combs would approve of: white.
Okay. I know I've snarked on outrageously expensive diaper bags before, but the Bella purse—even at $280—seems like a bargain considering that it's really three functional bags in one (purse, diaper bag, laptop bag). Plus, it's real leathah.
I think I know which bag I'll be taking to the BlogHer conference this year. Hopefully, not just in my dreams.
