When Geoff Luther, 43, became paralyzed in 1991 after rolling his car, the one question that nagged him was, "Will I ever become a father?" He and his wife Tammy spent years and thousands of dollars on ensuring that the answer to that question was a resounding, "Yes!"
After researching procedures and meeting with countless medical professionals, the Luthers finally settled on a procedure borrowed from the practice of animal husbandry. What helped Luther was a device that triggers ejaculation with a low-voltage impulse of electricity. Geoff remembers asking his doctor: "How will you know when you have it
turned up high enough? Will my ears start smoking or what?" (And all the guys reading this cross their legs.)
The procedure worked and the Luthers are now proud parents of Trent and Kayla. The Luthers' children haven't asked where babies come from, but Tammy says, if they ask, "She'll tell them about many different ways
children come into the world, from adoption to reproduction with
medical help." Sounds like a good answer to me.
