pens -- they're tidying up, finishing those outstanding tasks that they
just won't feel right if they leave undone. You know, like limiting women's access to reproductive healthcare! This story came up while talking about a battle over contraception in the Philippines:
for the past several months, the administration has pushed for new
rules requiring any healthcare organization that receives federal
funding to "protect" workers who had "conscience"-based objections to
performing or assisting in abortion or sterilizatin-related activity.
The rule's definition of abortion, as many have pointed out, would also
apply to hormonal birth control devices such as the pill or Nuva ring.
