seems to be the upshot of this study authored by Dr. Heather Paradis, a
pediatric fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center, in New
York state. Paradis’ study found that parents have a surprisingly low
level of knowledge about child development and what’s normal for
children at different phases of life.
More than 10,000 parents –
more than 98 percent of whom were mothers – of nine-month-old infants
were asked a series of 11 questions about children’s development.
