Brisbane parents who made headlines with a set of quads in 2005, only one year after having their first set of quads, is reportedly thrilled to be expecting baby number ten. The challenges of parenting twins seem minor in comparison to the mountains of love and food and laundry this couple wrangles with daily. But in this case, attitude clearly helps. "We adore children, so there are no plans to stop at 10," gushes Mrs. Chalk, 28.
Is this woman a few cards short of a full deck? Her husband is a taxi driver and they already have oodles o' children. Still, I adore my older Mormon brother who has seven delightful children with his sweet wife, so in a way I have to sort of shrug and figure "to each her/his own."
I'm in awe of anyone who is able to manage many many children, especially a quiver full, primarily because I feel so less-than-fabulous with just three. Nevertheless, I do wonder about the proliferation of multiple births. Based on my personal experience, I think there might be a linear correlation to the increased use of anti-depressants. Someday soon, multiples will be as common as a chubby person in McDonald's.
