So much for "stay in school and don't do drugs." As it turns out, in one study kids whose drug of choice was marijuana
were "'more socially driven ... significantly more likely to practice
sports and they have a better relationship with their peers' than
abstainers."
Ooooh, also: "'Even though they are more likely to skip class, they
have the same level of good grades; and although they have a worse
relationship with their parents, they are not more likely to be
depressed' than abstainers." I guess the drug talk should go something
like: "Darling, drugs are bad, but I'll totally understand if you need
to smoke a little weed to do well in school, okay?"
