You may remember that young David Silver, played by Brian Austin Green, had a best friend by the name of Scott Scanlon. Scott was a semi-nerdy, minor character who became more memorable for the way he exited the show. Sadly, Scott shot and killed himself accidentally in one of those "very special" episodes that explored a particular issue: in this case, access to guns.

So whatever happened to the actor -- whose name happened to be Douglas Emerson -- who played Scott Scanlon?

Turns out he took a path that veered away from acting. After leaving "90210," several Web sites report that Emerson joined the U.S. Air Force and worked in intelligence. (Dang, Scott!) He has reportedly since left the military and works for a company called Home Alliance, although it's unclear exactly where he is located.

IMDB reports that he is married to a woman who sells Mary Kay cosmetics and that the couple has two daughters. Unlike his former co-stars, Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty, there has been absolutely no discussion about bringing him back for a cameo on "90210." Clearly he couldn't play the deceased Scott, but he could assume some new role, right? Americans want to see Scott Scanlon again, don't they? Who's with me?

Related Links:

Rich or Rehab: Whatever Happened to the Little Girl From 'Halloween'?

Rich or Rehab: Whatever Happened to Mara Wilson?

Rich or Rehab: Whatever Happened to Robby Benson?

Image: Fancast.com

Strollerderby Playdate: Burn Baby Byrne

I've been unemployed and I've been mercilessly hooked on soap operas and Dan Savage. I've obsessed over pie and I've known way too much 90210 trivia. But I've never, ever pulled it off with this kind of panache. Or at least with as many poop jokes. I mean, poop jokes that actually make you laugh rather than roll your eyes at the hubs or thank God you are past the infant explosion days.

Byrne Unit, though, does all that up right. I'm not just saying that because blogging partners ELB and Briantologist are from Chicago, either. It is, however, because of the meticulously detailed soap opera wrap-ups that make me crave a 48-ounce Diet Dr. Pepper and skipping class in the afternoon to see if Tad really is the father of Brooke's child on All My Children, just like I did freshman year of college. Of course, those viewings were probably also followed by a Power Hour of shots of King Cobra to wipe away the despair that we wouldn't actually find out Brooke's baby's paternity until Monday, but still, it makes me crave. Fortunately, I can read up on all my daytime TV on Byrne Unit and skip the shots of malt beer.

Dig through Byrne Unit and I know you will laugh, love and occasionally cock your head at the screeen as you try to understand what the hell they are talking about. But once you get it or give up, I am pretty sure you will laugh. Or at least feel more informed about the details of when the Marlena's demonic possession and how to nurture an unhealthy and un-helpable obsession with Steve from Blue's Clues. And really, won't that make a difference in your day?

Kids Everywhere Are Perplexed Too: Post-Preggers Tori Spelling Dilemma

Gather 'round, kids. Put down your Duplo building blocks and your Dora backpacks and your sippy cups. Stop reading ni-ni books and please, keep your curious little chubbers fingers out of your nostrils for one very important moment. No, this isn't a time-out or a boy-parts/girl-parts talk. This is a much more critical issue that we need to discuss.

Children, this is about Tori Spelling.

Now, you probably don't remember Tori from back in the 90210 Donna days of cavernous cleavage and interminable virginity, but Mommy does. Mommy will remember for you that it was clearly a case of obligation and access to the beachfront condo that coerced Kelly to stay BFFs with Donna until the show came to a long and drawn-out end.

Mommy will remember with a cringe the commercials for Tori's self-mocking show on VH1 and the excrutiating boredom while sitting on a delayed plane on a tarmac in Portland that led to reading each and every one of the five page spread on how Tori and her now-hubby met, wooed and wed each other. And the sidebar on their cast-out spouses. Oh yeah, and the pictorial on their beach bonfire ritual after the nuptials. Cringe if you will but mommy will remember.

Now that Tori's made her way back to media darlingdom as a new wife, new mom, newly reconciled with her own mother, new owner of a B & B and new star of a reality show, her life has some dramatic questions looming that you, my babes, are aware of. Prepare yourself, the most pressing question needs your full attention: How will Tori Spelling lose her baby weight?

I know, I know. It's a big one.

But not to worry. She's been jogging with her husband and the kind folks at NutriSystem are going to take very good care of Tori's (surely) massive post-partum jelly belly after gaining (oh God) 40 pounds while pregnant. It'll all be OK.

Try not to worry your little heads, kids. I am sure it all be just fine.
