Thanks.

I know, feminist issues about defining ourselves by the male gaze and so on, bad me, but really. When I get horrified stares from store clerks fearing I am going to deliver in the dairy aisle at the grocery store, when my swollen feet and ankles render even my sassiest shoes Miss-Piggyesque, when turning over in bed much less any more interesting activities therein take all the logistics of a corporate merger, then, well, a little "hey there sexy" glance is kind of an ego boost, really.

Also kind of weird, from my eight months pregnant perspective. I'm feeling lot of things right now, but "like a hot, sexy woman" is not on the list. I'm not one of those airheads who would call pregnant women fat or think pregnancy and motherhood rule out any previous sex goddess-ness, but I'm just all big and achy and tired and crabby. None of which do a lot for any aura of hotness as far as I am concerned.

Based on the discussion among the Strollerderbians, many of whom have experienced this phenomenon, this attraction could be based in many things: visible evidence we put out, fearsomely large pregnancy boobs, imminent lactation (ewww) or pregnancy porn. Which I didn’t know was quiiitteee so, um, plentiful and varied as my subsequent (strictly research, you understand) Google search would have one believe.

But hey, if seeing that big round belly rings your bell and you can stay on the right side of the "appreciative glance" versus "drooling leer" line, lust away. Somebody ought to be getting some fun out of this.

Strollerderby Playdate: Have Parents Lost that Lovin' Feeling?

Strollerderby Playdate is a new daily feature which covers the
