Sheesh, you all sound like a bunch of 80 year old grannies sitting around spouting "in my day" nonsense.

Companies update their products to stay current and reflect the trends and styles of the times. Look at how many times Betty Crocker and Aunt Jemima products have had their character updated if you want a couple of examples that isn't child related.

If you (as in American society) don't want dolls and toys that look like this, then perhaps you should stop dressing your daughters like this! With the exception of that weird horse, I don't think the dolls look particularly bad. They look like almost every kid I see walking around Target, excluding that crazy Troll hair.

Yeah- toys for girls are pretty atrocious these days. Meanwhile, on the boy aisle of the toy store- I love how they've made superheroes like Spiderman and The Hulk toddler friendly (less scary looking) so I don't mind when Dad insists that, "Yes- the boys need these." Toys for little guys generally haven't changed much.

It's aaaall sick. Did anyone notice that, even before these Struts things came out, My Little Ponies got a makeover? When I played with them when I was little, they were kinda chubby, with thick legs and almost reasonably-sized heads. When they came back a few years ago, they looked like they'd ben put on a serious diet, and now they have the lollipop-head thing happening. It SUCKS. I'm keeping my eyes open for old-school Ponies at thrift stores for my niece (or my boys, should they be interested in anything but cars for more than 5 minutes).
