When it's really hot out, pavement and other outdoor surfaces get hot. That's just the way it is. The kid's parents shouldn't have let him run around barefoot in that heat.&lt;/p&gt;

That photo really makes me cringe. Sometimes one of my son's shoes will fall off when he's playing at the park. Luckily our playground equipment is completely shaded by trees. &lt;/p&gt;
