Pretend fantasy roll playing is what young children do. It's all in how the families handled it. Hopefully the lines of communication are wide open. I can only imagine what such a situation would feel like and choose not to judge being I've not walked in those shoes.

I think people are reading way to much into this.

It was a dying wish the young lady was happy to fulfill for her friend. He must have really loved her and vice-versa and it was able to put him at peace before he passed. I doubt she'll have a complex and may have devloped a bigger complex had she declined his proposal and he died the next day.

I don't think it's creepy at all. That little girl made her friend happy before he died. I think she and her parents are wonderful. I'm sure it meant a lot to Reece's parents too. I find the story very touching.

I found this story on another website, and wanted to read more about it. I'm just amazed at the strength of this little boy and his family. I have a 20 month old son, and hope to one day have another baby. Oddly enough, my favorite name for a little girl right now is Britton Reese . . . I can only hope to rear children with as much courage as Reece. God bless him.

Elleanor will need some careful parenting after losing her dear friend. Clearly her family is very supportive and can help her through this terrible loss. Knowing that she helped fulfill his last wish will help her work through the grieving process. This is a lot for a little girl to carry with her but it will make her a stronger, better person too.

This is so sweet, and not at all creepy. They were obviously close friends, and I think it will help her continue to be a kind and compassionate person throughout her life. I am suffering from an illness myself at 27, and wonder if I will die without getting married. It's a very human thing to want to accomplish. God rest his very sweet soul.

I hope that Elleanor's first wedding will be a wonderful memory for her. When she tells the story down the road, it would be lovely if people can still see that brave little girl who wanted so much to make her friend happy.

I find it both sweet she accepted, and really creepy that it was what he wanted so badly. It is nice that he got what he wanted before he died.

On the one hand, look at the smile on that little guy's face - awesome.

On the other hand, imagine the conversations she'll have while dating as an adult - "My first husband died when I was eight."

It's really awesome for the boy, but I just want to make sure Elleanor will be ok. Is it wrong of me to think that this will stay with her for the rest of her life and maybe give her a complex?
