Children and teenagers are immature and make dumb, uninformed decisions -- it's my job as a parent to, within reason, know what's going on with them at all times.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That said, I don't think I would install a device like this without some sort of provocation -- it seems the dad in the story was very aware his son was a reckless driver, so he took a (perhaps drastic) measure to keep his son safe. What's wrong with that?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I didn't get my license until I was 22, so I was never a teen driver. &amp;nbsp;I rode shotgun often enough, though.&lt;/p&gt;
