I was at the birth of a litter of 8 and the mama dog ate every last sac! THey, indeed, get rid of all the evidence of the birth because it's instinct. In nature, the pups are in danger of preditors! They do the same thing with poo and pee.....&lt;/p&gt;

We have neighbors who cooked and ate their child's placenta. I am told this is a relatively common practice.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;...or maybe not so much.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What other people do with their placentas does not interest me.&lt;/p&gt;
