Mary Church, looks like they've cleaned your clock pretty good so I'll just take my two swipes too. First of all you need to re-evaluate who the so called "prophet" is and if you're honest, which I doubt, you'll find that it's not Obama. The repubs. have made Sarah Palin their great messianic savior who came down from the Alaskan skies packing a shot gun, a thermos of moose stew and a bag of lies that were debunked thirty minutes after she told them---but she just kept telling them anyway. Oh my, the rejoicing of how the repub base has become energized by this woman who thinks she's queen of a sovereign nation (Alaska) to the extent that she knows very little about the lower forty eight. But she lives next door to Russia and that makes her expert on foreign relations because of it. She made a speech the day her son left for Iraq saying that Iraq was responsible for 911 when even Bush has abandoned that lie. Use your head for something other than conjuring up nonsense. If you do, you won't be voting McCain/Palin.

The problem with McCain's pick, is that it was not the one he (the "maverick")wanted, but the RNC thought best. As with McCain's 90% voting with GWB, we now see that he is no maverick, but another puppet that can be told what to do and how to act. Palin has so many lies racked up just a week into her announcement as VP pick that every "hockey mom" should be smart enough to see that she is NOT just like them. She shares a personality that is almost exactly that of GWB, demanding loyalty, treating others with disrepect if they dare disagree with her (even to the point of being unethical, as she is currently being investigated for). She is so like GWB except for gender, that any change they tout is just one more lie.

She and McCain repeat her lies even after the facts are in. She did try to sell her Gov. jet on E-Bay, 3 different times, with no takers. She did sell it eventually (not on e-bay) at a loss, not at the profit McCain announces over and over. She was for the bridge to no where, supported it fully. When it was nixed by Congress, the money she states she refused she actually took. Now they are building a road that would have led to the bridge, that no longer is being built. Something is terribly wrong with this picture!!

She demands that her family's personal stories be just that, personal (as all should be) and that her daughter made a decision (choice) to keep the pregnancy. Yes, I agree, this is a family matter, that Palin's family was given, and a decision (choice) was made. But, this same woman who demands that this type of issue be a personal/family matter, is the same person that wants to take that option out of every other family's hands, and allow the states to decide what you can and cannot do in regards to pregnancy.

There are so many other troubling things that this woman stands for, my only hope is that the media will vet her the way she should have been by McCain.

McCain has made many mistakes in his life. From dumping his model 1st wife, after she was severely injured and disfigured in an auto accident while he was a POW. She asked that he not be told, so not to have additional worries while being a POW. Upon his return, it didn't take long for a "beautiful, rich" woman to steal his heart in a bar, that he dumped his faithful wife for. This is the type of person he is. Before he crashed his plane and was captured, he crashed four other planes. He has a record that only the POW status elevates him as the "best to run this country". Too many have forgotten the Keating 5 story. Women across this country better be voting with their hearts and minds well informed. There is no change in sight with a McCain-Palin ticket. Only at least 4 more years of what the last 8 have been like. Lies upon lies upon lies!

To Mary Church: please get informed about the people you want in office. Please get your info in more places than FOX news. Your bigotry rings loud and clear re' Obama, so I know you won't be casting a vote for him, but to vote for JM because there is a woman on the ticket, is an ignorant act. You do women a disservice by not being well informed. I do believe if you look carefully into Palin's record you will realize that should McCain have to leave the presidency d/t illness or God forbid, death, we would be in the hands of a woman (who's child is going to Iraq), that stated she didn't really know a lot about the Iraq conflict. Any mom would arm herself with all the knowledge available before sending her child off to a war. But, I guess it's ok if a post born child is "aborted".

I hope Liane is right, and she will be off the ticket soon. you may think Palin's someone you'd like a beer with, but that's what they said about GWB, too. See what that has done for our country!

wow, mary church, did you read before posting, because you really sound like a rabid dog foaming at the mouth. what is it with these right wing nuts?take a chill pill and do your research on Sarah Palin and then see if wanting this person as vice president (of the most powerful country in the world) doesn't make you a jerk.

I agree that Hillary Clinton supporters probably aren't going to go for Palin once they realize what her views are. The anti-abortion stance alone is enough to lose most of those votes.

BUT, I think Madeline has a point about the undecided voters finding Palin extremely appealing. She's a pro-gun mother of five who fights corruption in the last frontier of America. Middle America is going to LOVE this woman.

I think Madeline is right on. John McCain is trying to "warm up" his campaign by choosing a normal looking, seemingly-friendly, young female to counter-act is cool, off-putting, and distant wife.

It's a pretty insulting choice for women though...If he's trying to get Hillary supporters to vote for him just because Sara Palin is a lady, well, he's severely underestimating their intelligence. They will NOT vote for Sara Palin just because she happens to have a vagina.
