Ask them where they got that footage, I did.

They said it was fieldwork, which I questioned, because you will notice shots are taken from inside and outside and flying alongside the plane in the ad. Finally media relations told me that this footage is in fact dated materiel for a film called "Alaska Wolf Man" a film made nearly 3 decades ago with its own agenda. it does not show or reflect the reality of the situation in Alaska. You are being sadly manipulated by propaganda if you fall for this.

The same as at the Pinery provinvial Park here where I live in Canada. There were over 400 whitetailed deer in a park that is approximatel 5 miles by 3 miles. So 15 square miles with 400 deer. And yes there is a deer count on foot . ppl 30 ft apart. So tell me at approximately 30 deer per square mile how is the less than 1% of Carolinian Canada that is left going to survive? Measures have to be taken and they have been very succesfully. Its the same as controlled burns of outr forests. All people see is the poor wolf . What about the poor cow that was at the slaughter house? Or the chicken you get all wrapped up from the store?Or even stronger thought what about the unborn fetuses that are eliminated every day. People that don t live in the far north don t understand that many people rely on caribou and moose to live. Native people rely on this and there families too. Its not a sport. Its government controlled. There not getting sportsmen up in a helicopter or plane for the hell of killing an animal. Not like how they shoot deer in the southern states with feeding stations. Sit on your porch with a feeding station 40 yards away and pop off a deer on your back porch when its in season. Fatten them up with corn and away ya go. Bambi in the freezer. This was never a topic anyone was concerned about before until Palin got in the picture. Where was everyone when she wasn t in the picture? So now that this story is being turned around and made to look like a sporting event by different groups is everyone concerned?Kinda overshadows Obamas minister a bit doesn t it. If you want to know truths and facts get to the bottom of the story and get in a chat room with some of the native groups in that area and research the real truth.People in the far north aren t sitting back having a starbucks coffee in a drive through line wasting gas to get a coffee. there sustaining there lives and there families with what nature provides. Think of that in the middle of winter as you eat your steak at outback. You do what you have to do and the government in Alaska has made a decission to benefit there people.Believe me if you were a chicken farmer near the bayou and a gator was taking 5 or 10 chickens a night and that was your family you were feeding with them Im sure Wallygator wouldn t be seen for a long long time. So before you start sending sob stories to all your chain letter friends maybe take a moment to think. A tree hugger in Ontario. Brad Baynham

This is not meant to put them down but they do not live in that Alaska and do not understand wildlife management. How can they, they believe that a steak comes from a plastic package from a store. Sorry people it comes from killing an animal that is forced to live in a cage until it is killed. As humans we have destroyed all if mother natures natural balances so either we get rid of all the humans or we take over for mother nature and do the best we can to co-exist with nature. As a hunter and conservationist I HATE this practice but understand it effectiveness. We who are not involved in the scientific research in these maters should not judge by our hearts but by what is best over all. if you do not like this practice don't just wine about it and through slander. come up with a better way to control the wolf population.

I'm curious if the aerial shooting is necessary to keep the wolf population under control. That's not a judgment, it's a real question, since this entire topic is a new one to me. I promise Alaskans aren't shooting wolves from planes for sport (contrary to what every media source makes it sound like.) A small number of wolves are killed by government officials in pockets of the state where subsitence hunters (many Native Alaskan) depend on moose and caribou for food. The overpopulated wolves pose a threat to the moose and caribou that they prey on - and ultimately could potentially threaten their own existence if they are allowed to continue to decimate their food source.

That is beyond barbaric to say the least and anyone who supports such practice I hope one day they find the same fate.

To us, nature is a cute, tame thing that shows up and eats our cat's food on the back porch in the middle of the night. To Alaskans, it's literally something that's trying to kill them any time they step outside. When was the last time you took a gun and a dog with you to guard against bear attacks? When was the last time you fed your family meat that you killed yourself? Personally, I think that's a lot more righteous than eating corn syrup produced by some multi-billion dollar corporation doing vast environmental damage. They kill a few wolves to protect an important food source; we've wiped out almost every natural ecosystem in the Lower 48 to grow corn to feed to our pigs and make Oreos.

That said, I wouldn't vote for her in a million years. Just like I don't claim to understand Alaskans and their world, I don't think she can understand how the rest of America lives. That makes her entirely unqualified to govern.
