This story breaks my heart, especially knowing how hard it is to find adoptive homes for older children, let alone older boys... These behavior problems are only going to be aggrivated by the fact that they have now been abandoned. But at least these children now have a chance (hopefully) to find a home where they are loved (instead of living in one where their caregivers felt they couldn't handle them.) Sad.

I do agree that these people shouldn't keep these kids if they're that desperate to get rid of them (this is a recipe for abuse or even murder), but my heart breaks for those poor children. What could possibly be crueler?

My opinion is: if anyone is having enough problems with their child to actually go through with dropping off the child at the hospital with the intent never to see them again, they should probably be allowed to do it. The other option is to leave the kid with an adult who really, truly doesn't want them. As the news shows every day, parents can do terrible things to children if they really, truly don't want them or can't handle them and feel that they have no way out.
