i know that woman! i saw her at the inside playground at the mall last week all skinny and perky chasing her two kids around and acting crazy for at least half an hour. it made me feel guilty because when i take my kid to the softplay i just like to sit down with a coffee and let my kid burn off energy and get some independent play time. then she finally sat down, near me, tried some small talk and i dropped the old, "oh it's almost naptime line" so i could get out of there. whew, it's a relief to know i am not the only mommy annoyed by the "stalker" mom.

Thank you. Sometimes I feel like I am the only mom anymore who hasn't joined the Cult of the Kid. I parent similar to my mother and her generation, which is to stay close and keep 'em healthy and safe but I don't become their best friend. Yes, I do play with my kids but not to the extent that seems to be the norm today. I would go nuts!

I know of several moms like this.. and they not only sit on the floor but even play patty cake with your daughters!!

I can one up you. I have a friend that is like this and when I was a teacher (with my summers free) she invited me to play date every week. I don't have children. She would get really bummed and want to know why and I just didn't have the heart to tell her (out loud) that spending my precious free time listening to her and the other mommies talk about diaper rash while the children sneezed on me was not my idea of a good time. By the end of the summer the excuses were getting pretty flimsy!

I know a stalker and she always makes me look bad. While I'm sitting on a park bench under a tree she's playing climbing and sliding games with her kids and mine.

I hate her.
