At a California rally yesterday, Sarah Palin

re: Palin: Women Who Don't Support Other Women Go to Hell

Politick,

You raise some good points. I agree that we should all focus on policies more than trivial jabs in this election. However, this is precisely the reason that I find this video of Palin important. It is characteristic of her using appealing rhetoric to hide behind her true policies, about which I was hoping to spur discussion. When someone is opposed to abortion even in the case of rape and incest, she should not be using (inaccurate) feminist rhetoric to paint herself as a champion for women's rights.

Starbucks was using that quote to campaign for Hilary Clinton (not that it isn't their right..). Palin was using it to point out how consistantly she is battered in the media.

Stop looking for reasons to put the woman down. This is getting juvenile. If she makes a *real* mistake, and not just an intentional tweak to a quote (which we have all done before, including Mr. Obama), fine. If you don't agree with her policy, fine. Vote for Obama. But let's focus on the issues that matter in this election and not cloud it with trivia.

This is amazing coming from Palin....wasn't the policy in Wasilla, AK, while she was mayor, to charge a rape victim's health insurance company to cover the rape kit used to collect evidence? (Of course no home-owner insurance companies were charged for collecting evidence in any cases of vandalism.) So, I guess she's going to h*ll.

The message was rather clear: vote for Hillary, or suffer eternal damnation. And, for Starbuck's to make it public, it must have some socially redeeming value. But speaking of old news, did you know the quote’s originator, Madeleine K. Albright, may or may not even believe in hell? According to my sketchy knowledge of theology, hell is a tenet of the Christian religion. So, according to Ms. Albright only Christian women who fail to vote for Hillary will be thrown into the pit. Ms. Albright is an Episcopalian convert. But believe you me, even though the Episcopal Church is a Christian denomination, certainly none believe he or she shall be consigned to that place where the wicked are punished after death for declining to vote for Hillary. According to Madam Albright, "Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics.” Were Madeleine to be believed, it’s just something she screamed from a second story window at Georgetown University that miraculously found it’s way onto a coffee cup: http://theseedsof9-11.com
