For those of you not familiar with this member of the Disney hoochie patrol, she's never made it on screen. She's been banished to the back of the kitchen. What I hate is the whole "Disney Princess" thing. I agree about Belle- she's a great character in the movie. But when the princesses are all just packaged together and stuck on a bunch of merchandise, they lose the kick-ass aspects of their characters and stories and become... skinny chicks with big boobs in poofy dresses.

I'd rather hang out with princess Pooty-Pants, myself.

The princess phase is so brief, and it happens at an age where they are much too young to be affected by any "damsel-in-distress" messages.

The fact is that most little girls like glittery, fluffy dresses because they're pretty, and that's why they like the princesses. I don't think there's much more to it than that, at least for my girls. When they dress up in their foofy princess dresses, they don't "play princess"--they dance together, they play their toy electric guitars, or they just sit and color. They just like to wear foofy dresses while they do those things.

I'm not going to get worked up about it because they have plenty of good, real-life female role models in me, their aunts and grandmothers, and my friends. Plus, by the time they hit kindergarten there will be a new obsession.
