Um, I hate her a lot, and, yeah, it was hysterical... because it was making fun of her! Don't you get that? Palin, on the other hand, could not have been hysterical because she didn't actually do anything. You can't give her any props for being "a good sport." She just wants the cool kids to like her. Idiot.

With Palin's appearance, SNL got the best ratings it's seen since 1994. Obviously a few people tuned in just to watch her! The first skit with Fey and Baldwin was kind of lame (though it seemed to be meant to be lame -- a tactic that didn't really work for me), but the second skit, with a pregnant Amy Poehler "capping" a moose, was hysterical! I think you'd really have to hate Palin a lot not to think that one was funny. And Sarah was a good sport about it, which takes a certain kind of non-self-importance.

Eh. The backstage banter was supposed to be awkward--everybody knows how much Baldwin hates her, and how much Fey hates her--therein lies the schadenfreude.

Palin's sliding in the polls--60% of Americans don't feel she's qualified--so this was a lame effort on the campaign's part to try to shore her up. She didn't even do anything, so there wasn't even a chance that she'd slip up. Once more, an ankle-high hurdle...

I'd rather watch Fey, who told TV Guide, "If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

More than anything I found it bizarre that Alec Baldwin agreed to be a part of it after his outpouring of disdain for her on Bill Maher just a couple weeks ago. I mean this guy was sweating he was hating so much. I couldn't wrap my head around it. Overall I am sure it played out poorly for Palin, her fans will remain her fans, but I don't suspect she won over any "on the fence" voters for showing she can take it in the face, while being ridiculed and keep a smile.

When I first heard Palin was going to be on the show, I thought it was completely lame of SNL and was kind of pissed about it. Then I saw the sketches. Usually, when an individual they've been spoofing shows up on SNL (like Clinton earlier in the season, for instance), it's pretty lighthearted (because it's usually someone they don't hate so much!). I didn't think they held back for Palin and she ended up looking like a chump for going along with it. What an idiot.
