We had a 2BR house, so my parents slept downstairs, in our (unfinished) basement. As I got older, I kept trying to encourage them to switch with me - I felt really guilty about it. At the same time, I really relished the privacy of having my own space!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I desperately wish we could afford a place with more rooms, so we could give the kid her own! But, I don't think I'd spent $700 on a bed or desk, even if we had enough rooms!&lt;/p&gt;
