Way to go Manjari and lovedannygansle and all the other POSITIVE comments here. Moviegirl should take a cue from the fervently conservative, Elisabeth Hassleback, who, after a fierce fight for McCain/Palin, is now behind our President-Elect and educating her daughter about the reality that "nobody lost" in this election!!! NOBODY LOST!

Giving your children reason to fear sleeping alone is horrible at every level. Like many in this community, I taught my children about this election. One of the important lessons was to not disparrage/fear the other candidate, but rather celebrate hope in the future our preferred candidate could give us.

If this election season has taught me anything, it is that hate is alive and well in this country. By the grace of God, however, by voting, Americans have set a mandate to work towards our goals with the use of hope and determination rather than divisiveness and fear.

If you saw the world through this lens, moviegirl, your child would be happier, more accepting, and more self-assured.

John McCain gave a lovely concession speech. I wish his supporters would take their cue from him now. I don't know if it's even possible to engage in a meaningful discussion with someone like moviegirl. She is a ridiculous, sad, scared, bigoted person.

I am proud of our country. President Obama will have a tough road accomplishing real change due to the current circumstances in our country, but the shift in world view is refreshing, and lifts a weight from my shoulders.

My 7 year old was completely into it. I had to force him to bed at 10:15

moviegirl, if your 9 year old was afraid to sleep alone because your candidate lost, then you have done her a real disservice. It is your responsibility to be a voice of reason in her life.
