You are so right about the keeping quiet part. I really wanted to name my baby Mortimer if it was a boy. I got soooo much slack, that I gave it up. But, to me it is such an old fashion yet funky name. Plus, Timmer would have been the nickname. Alas, we had a girl so it was never an issue in the end. If I ever was pregnant again, I would never even hint of the name I had in mind.

My daughters names are nowhere near the top 1000 for any of the last 15 years according to the SSA. Middle names, though I thought they were popular, are also not above 400

We went super-classic and plain - Will. Our girl name was Ava, after my husband's grandmother, and immediately after our son was born it became hugely popular, so I'm glad he's a boy.

Keeping my fingers crossed that at least ONE of the twins is a girl, we've chosen what I think is a fairly unique, yet not weird name.

Zeda (or maybe Zeta) Jane Crabtree, named after my husband's late relative. As soon as I heard the name I fell in love with it. If we're having two boys, we're pretty much screwed. I suggested Razzmatazz for a boy, but my husband reassured me that would lead to a lifetime of the boy hating us for what we did to him. I do see his point, but I think Razz is great name....

We chose a traditional, yet uncommon name. It was better than what I read the other day about a crazy Ohio State fan naming his son Tressel Hayes. Considering I'm a Michigan fan, it makes me cringe... poor kid.

Well... I think I came up with a good one. Augdin... not the traditional spelling of Ogden but different and cute none-the-less. Or at least I think so. :)
