Sort of. My husband and I still can't agree on which of the boy names should be the first name and which one should go in the middle. But, you know, at least

re: Should Some Baby Names Just Be Retired?

All it takes is one coup to ruin a good baby name.

I just went back and read your linked article. I never wanted to be one of those last-minute-baby-namers who had to meet their child (ROLL EYES) so we had a name all picked out for our son or daughter. For sure our boy was going to be Roderick Jon....he was born and after I held him and looked over at my husband holding him I was struck by the absolute fact that the baby's name was Timothy David. That wasn't even one of our considerations so I don't know where it came from.

To this day, at 25 years old, he is still Timothy David. A couple years ago after hearing his baby name story he actually sent me a formal thank you note for not naming him Roderick (which I still like...).

Funny subject eh!

The family lore says every kid named after him at that time was given a new pair of shoes. Well, decades later, we named our son Benedetto (Benny) after Grandpa...so I guess that means we're fascists? :-)
