Actually, there are a number of conditions that could cause the opening to close up, or become overly tight.

Medical stents exist for a reason.

YOUR vagina might not "heal" and close up, just like most of them. But some folks have vaginas that do. As Alice points out, intersex children are in a different boat, and even sometimes have vaginoplasty performed on them. Non-life-saving surgery performed on infants is something that most intersex activists virulently oppose. Nonetheless, it's been quite common. As with any vaginoplasty, you have to dilate regularly or else it will heal and close up. (something I've heard is a somewhat horrible experience for infants).

And of course, if a woman has vaginoplasty in her adult life, like many trans women do, then she'll be in the same boat as an adult. Perhaps that guy's wife is in this circumstance, and perhaps he assumes it's true for all women because she hasn't told him about it.

Actually in veyr young girls, toddlers usually, a hormone imbalance, that is veyr common does make the tissue of the labia suture together. The pediatrician has to open it back up and you apply a hormone cream to the area to prevnt it closing back up. I know three little girls this had happened to. So yes, they can close up but not in grown women.

The only stupid people in this particular instance are the ones who fell for the troll. Trolls like this are the one thing that is keeping people on Yahoo! answers because it gets them links like this. They claim to be trying to crack down on it but I have to say an awful lot of them have been getting through.
