gpgirl -- I suggest the book "Huck's Raft", which does an excellent of job explaining why people are (and always have been) so critical of parents. And it's just a fascinating, well-researched and well-written book.

You know, you really cannot win on this one. When my son was very small, we just used that frame that you pop the car seat in. It happens to face backwards, but the only reason I used this is because of the convenience. (Being able to move the baby from home to car to stroller without disturbing his sleep!) When he was about 6 months old, I started getting some comments (from strangers of course) that he really should be in a regular, front-facing stroller by now.

Parents really are criticized no matter what we do. Why does our society does this is the big question, as far as I am concerned.

Bahahaha, good point Jayelle! I think I see the root cause of the front-facing stroller "crisis." And I totally agree, Kae. Especially as a newborn, my girl was stuck looking at my face (or a boob) for most of the day. I'm pretty sure she was grateful to get some new scenery.

So according to Motrin, wearing our babies in the sling is a fad. Now putting them in the stroller is showing them off as fashion accessories. Where exactly do "they" suggest I should put 14.3 pound two and half month old? I can't carry him all day and I doubt they want me to ever set him down either.

Somehow I get the sense that people who write these ads/ do these studies have never been around a baby in their lives. I'm not even sure they were one themselves.

My daughter LOVES seeing the world from inside her stroller -- she babbles and chatters and giggles the whole time. A laughing, happy baby... the face of child abuse. PLEASE.

Exactly how much time does this dumbass suppose the average child spends in his/her stroller? My little one was in hers maybe twenty minutes a day during nice weather, certainly not enough time to "impair" anything even if this "study" was anything but complete BS.
