"Mommy just has to peepee, she will be out in a minute!" Screamed through the bathroom door to my one year old who will not stop wailing and pounding on the door. (by the way, when did i start referring to myself in the third person?)

"No, No, NOOO, do not touch the poopy!!"

oh and my favorite,

"Please keep your pants on!"

In my first year of teaching, I remember the first time I told a kid, "Go back and walk." I mean, what's with that? After saying it, I realized that after years of fighting the man, I was THE MAN. I mean, running to get to someplace because you're excited to get there is so joyous. Something happens as we get older that we don't run to things just for the fun of it. You might run on a track or on the sidewalk while wearing some high performance fleece and some hundred dollar shoes which were supposedly engineered for you. Also, why don't people clap for me when I have a good bowel movement?
