Trip IS NOT a preppy name!

It's a preppy nickname.

Ignorance personified, not one educated person in the family.

“Trip” as in triple, one "p", is the traditional preppy nickname for a child born “the third”, same with “Trey” (French for three). Ones calls one’s son “Trip” or “Trey” if the father and grandfather of the exact same name are still living. One does NOT use these nicknames on birth certificates.

The father Levi and Bristol having named their son Tripp, no doubt they believe this is an upper class appellation.

We're certainly not alone in our interest ("fascination" seems strong) in the Palins. Bristol recently received $300,000 from People magazine for pictures of her baby.

I see the fascination w/ Bristol and the Blog's demographic as coinicidences. Bristol was thrown into the limelight by her own mother and ranks as a current celebrity (though she probably will lose her luster quickly and just be a normal teenage mom. As for the 35+ group, I was first pregnant at 28 and admit to being a little wistful that I didn't start three or four years earlier. So, yes, I'll admit to a little fascination w/ women who will be "free" at forty or will be young enough to really enjoy their grandchildren. But I don't know if that can be applied across the board. Plenty of people are not emotionally ready until they are mid-thirties in spite of their "dried up" wares.
