I think it's probably better from a security standpoint that the kids are in private school. Beyond that, I don't think about it much.

Well, I certainly can't afford 15,000 a year on PRIVATE school. Man, if they had actually been put in public school you guys would have splashed it all over the place, but you just hope no one noticed that they, like nearly ever president before them, put their children in private school!

The Obama's are a breath of fresh air! We should give them the credit they deserve. They are beautiful!

I don't think anyone could deny the realness and sincerity of the Obama family.

I don not understand why we cannot accept the fact that their are a few good men and families that still exist.

Well, as Laundry and Children knows, no republican President has ever allowed his family to be photographed. Those Obamas are terrible parents!

Laundry and Children - color me weird, because I took pictures of my kid's first day of school every year - and still do!

We take pictures on special occasions in our family - and going to school for the first day of the year is one of those. I didn't realize it was abnormal to do so - I guess I've just bought the media's obsession with photography?

If you really want to be "normal", don't turn sending the kids off to school in to a photo opt. Don't you think the girls were nervous enough without having a camera pointed at them as they said good-bye to their parents? I'm not impressed with that parenting choice.

While I don't spent a ton of time thinking about it, from what I've seen, I do think the Obamas appear to be very good, involved parents. And the whole family is just so gosh darn cute.
