Anon: I kind of thought the same thing; although I will say if there is child abuse and someone pulled this kind of stunt it might actually endanger the case getting through court.

the only way I would be ok with this is if child abuse was suspected, then by all means...do everything you can

I feel even worse about this than about the nanny cams - it's bad enough to buy a premade stuffed animal to spy on your nanny - but to destroy one of your children's own loved fuzzy friends? That's horrifying. My daughter's animals are her imaginary companions - she pretends to share meals with them, and tucks them in blankets to make sure they are warm before she leaves for school. I can't imagine how she would feel if I hurt one of them purposely!
