I don't see them condemning others for having no children or only a few children. I don't here them slamming anyone who doesn't hold their beliefs. I will point out that if it were not for Christians, there would not be an America. This country was founded because of people wanting religous freendom.

So what if TLC put the finishing touches on their house. I have seen TLC (and plenty of other channels) do the same for lots of different people.

So what if their daughters grow up to be wives and mothers? There's nothing wrong with that! I also don't here them slamming people who don't homeschool. Many brilliant minds in our nation's history were homeschooled! How do folks think people were educated before "schools"? Personnally, I think it's a sad state of affairs that we as a society believe we have to have someone else teach us the things we desire/need to know. Maybe thats one of the things wrong with our society. No personal resposibility. These parents are raising kids who are happy, healthy, respectful, and well behaved. Better than most kids I see in the traditional school system and out in public!

How sad it is to see so many people who are so mean, judgemental and ignorant, that they forget that it takes all kinds of people! One is not better than another. Why is it that a lot of people scream for equality for all and then want to deny it for some. Especially if they are conservative.

I say: Grow up, quit pointing at others and straighten out your own mess! Maybe those who are so critical are just jealous because they have not manage theirs as well as the Duggars.

I am sure they are paid well for shows they do.GOD did go forth and populate the world but he did mean for one man and one women to do it.I also cant help but wonder at what point will they lose control of that bunch. It just seems to me they are sheltered and at some point a couple of them will rebell

However, no, I don't think it makes them better than those who have one child - or those who choose not to have any children.

Its simply a choice, nothing more.

The Dugar Family does not receive any assistance from any one. They are not dependent on the state of Arkansas so If they have a million babies whose business is it??

I commend Michelle on her abilities to be a good mother as long as God blesses her I think that she should continue to what she feels is best for her.

My mom is the eldest of 9 and my dad is 4th of 10, so I know from big families but at some point, don't you just have to draw the line? Is this woman pregnant ALL THE TIME? I'd think her body would start giving up after a while, right? My grandmother was so sick of being pregnant and/or having an infant that she told her doctor to take the 9th baby out and give her a hysterectomy while he was at it. I can't say I blame her.

Good for them, though, if that's what makes them happy. I just wish they could be a little less creative in the names department. But they probably save tons on mongrams.

Generally, the girls are expected to become nothing but young wives/mothers. Many of these family's see it as their christian duty to have kids in an effort to build "god's army", rather than as a desire to love kids and raise them to be responsiible individuals. Many of them also see the ability to have lots of kids as proof of one's Christian goodnes (that is, if you are infertile then maybe God is punishing your wicked ass). And finally, many just blindly trust that God will provide the material resources needed to take care of all these kids - actually what happens is that they then need to rely on the charity just to get shoes and food for all the kids.

Unless a parent truely believes that kid's don't really need much individual attention from parents, and is also extremely weathly, I think that the movement is incredible immoral.

And I've always found that picture to be hillarious as well!
