Hi Its Frances here from Breastmates. Its my newsletter that I emailed to customers that caused all this controversy. I was just notifying customers of this beautiful lingerie that I am now selling online through my www.breastmates.co.nz website (which is available worldwide). Yes members had all requested subscription to my newsletter and i was certainly not spamming them. Then I got replies and was being acused of sending out soft porn images – which is certainly not what I wanted to be accused of! Strangely these were my target audience of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers that were upset. I’ve set up my breastmates business to provide quality products for mothers during the breastfeeding time of their life. Not pornography!! Heck if people find the images of Hotmilk so offensive they better not look at my website as I have lots of breasts and nipples showing on a lot of images/product shots! The media did blow things a little out of proportion – it was only 3 people that complained about the images. I guess they just didn’t like seeing pregnant women as a sexual body, or perhaps they were jealous of this yummy mummy.

Well Done! and Congratulations on the launch of your sexy maternity underwear. How beautiful. I just saw it on the Today Show. I can't believe anyone would not like it. I am a 56 year old mother of 4 and can only remember how ugly I felt in the ugly bras and undies we had back then. I was 18 years old for my first. Now my youngest daughter is 5 months pregnant and I am going to take her shopping for your beautiful feminine range. Thank YOU.!!

Wow! I need these! And I can not fathom how people would be more offended by these ads than any non-maternity lingerie ad. Maybe Prescott is correct about the demographic of folks who received the ads.

I'm 7months pregnant right now and I've been going swimming in public everyday wearing a supportive bikini. I never even thought that my belly might be offending anyone. I'm lucky enough to not have stretch marks, so I never bothered buying a materninty takini or other full coverage suit - my belly is enormous and quite obvious How funny!

What is she basing that on? Call me crazy, but I think the complainers had a problem with receiving ads with women in lingerie in their inbox, pregnant or not, and would probably get their panties in a bunch (pun intended) over Victoria's Secret spam as well.

Not only are maternity bras generally ugly, they tend to not be terribly comfortable or necessarily supportive, at least in my experience. Which is exactly why I agree with JulieT. When I was preggers and nursing afterwards, I was constantly yearning for Viki's Secret maternity skivvies too. Not for the sexy aspect though. They make some of the best bras and undies ever engineered. Comfy, well-fitted, all day kind of stuff. Their Body line is the best stuff on the market. VS is totally missing a huge revenue opportunity here.

I think this is a fabulous idea! Maternity bras are really ugly. When I was looking for maternity bras, I stopped at a Victoria's Secret and asked if they sold them, maybe in the catalog? The saleswoman said no, but she thought they should because so many women came in asking the same question.
