And I agree, I blogged about her "fatness" the other day too. She is NOT fat. And I am not a Britney fan btw (I can't stand her).

Britney is certainly not famous for her voice. She's made a career for herself based almost solely on her looks, which is why I'm kind of torn on this one.

No, she's not fat. But she's bigger than she used to be and should have chosen her outfit much more carefully. And I agree with some of the previous posters in that the "fat" comments probably are somewhat related to the lazy, listless performance she turned in.

Britney leaves her kids with nannies all the time. To party. Since her career rests almost solely on looking impossibly skinny and hot, I'd rather her use the time she's not parenting her children to that end, rather than pounding down cocktails. Why does she need cocktails? She's not dealing with the screaming not-sleeping kids the rest of us are.

I'd rather look at Britney's belly than an emaciated Angelina Jolie any day. Normally I think Angelina is hot but lately she looks like a skeleton. Seriously, we have an f-ed up society when 120 lb Britney is fat. I don't even think she looked fat. She looked like a drunk-junkie-train-wreck but fat, please.

She looked like hell.

She chose to wear a costume that accentuated the post-baby belly - she could have worn a corset and the same hot pants and looked mildly good.

She made this choice... nobody MADE her wear a bra and hot pants on national TV... rumor has it that MTV wanted her in a corset.

I have a belly. You would never catch me on TV wearing what she wore in this performance, even if I was trying to look sexy.

Is she, in fact, "fat"??? No.

Did she "look fat" because of her insane wardrobe choice??? Yes.

I have to agree with chyna823 -- I think most of the criticism comes from the fact that she was moving around with the grace of a geriatric walrus. I got the impression she couldn't make it up a flight of stairs without stopping for a breather. In my mind that makes her "unfit", it's not about body image.

No, she's definitely not fat. But I think the "fat" criticisms are related to the lazy, sloppy performance she gave. If she'd knocked it out of the park, I doubt people would be as obsessed with her abs.

I'm with you, Kelly - she looks great (relatively speaking)! To call her a terrible performer is totally valid, but to call her fat? This is NOT fat. And labeling her as such is sickening.
